Introduction
The Strengthening Parent Support Program (SPSP) is a free service funded by the Victorian Government. - Assist you to navigate the maze of service and supports
- Organise guest speakers and information sessions relating to parenting and disability
- Provide support via disability parent peer groups
- Provide informative updates through a variety of platforms
- Will respect your privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Provide community education to professionals, service providers, students and the general community regarding issues for families of children with a disability
What SPSP options are there?
SPSP is a state-wide program, for a Coordinator in your local area please contact https://www.acd.org.au/strengthening-parent-support-coordinators/
There is a variety of Peer Connect options with Inspired Carers, please check out our events page or please contact us Current Peer Groups Inspired Carers for times and locations:
- Walk & Talk groups – Fresh air, gentle exercise , and good company and relaxed setting for these groups.
- Social Mixers group – attendees meet at different venues to enjoy a dinner or desert with other parents, these are relaxed fun options that allow for connection with others who are experiencing a similar parenting journey
- Coffee & Chat groups / Chit Chat groups – an opportunity for parents/carers to come together, to share experiences and learn in a supportive environment
- Book Club – provides parents/carers an opportunity for self-care, peer support and social connection.
Book Club your way - you can be a gung-ho intellectual BookCluber; you can be a didn't-have-time-so-just-watched-the-movie BookCluber. Or anything in between.Discussed over dinner on the last Friday evening of the month.
